[Meaning] they rushed at, they ran upon, they laid hold of. "The evils of the Egyptians, those in the city of Alexandria, fell also upon Rome." Varro says [this].
Ἐγκατέσκηψαν· ἐφώρμησαν, ἐπέδραμον, ἐπεδράξαντο. Αἰγυπτίων κακά, τὰ ἐν τῇ Ἀλεξανδρείᾳ πόλει, ἐγκατέσκηψε καὶ τῇ Ῥώμῃ. Οὐάρων φησίν.
