"So for those sailing in such a [situation] they say that life has hung by a fragile thread." The proverb [is applied] to those who are in the utmost danger.
Ἀπὸ λεπτοῦ μίτου τὸ ζῆν ἠρτῆσθαι. τοῖς οὖν ἐν τῷ τοιῷδε πλέουσιν ἀπὸ λεπτοῦ μίτου φασὶν ἠρτῆσθαι τὸ ζῆν. ἡ παροιμία ἐπὶ τῶν ἐν ἐσχάτοις κινδύνου ὄντων.
