chorikos, choricus, chorus-leader
[Meaning] he who leads out the chorus. Such a one was Agathon, who used to create dramatic songs and act them out himself; therefore they are also called "choral" [songs].
Χορικός· ὁ τοῦ χοροῦ ἐξάρχων. τοιοῦτος ἦν Ἀγάθων, ὃς ὑποκριτικὰ μέλη ἐποίει καὶ αὐτὸς ὑποκρίνεται· διὸ καὶ χορικὰ λέγει.
