The father, angry with his son because of his concubine, mutilated the youth and immured him. Hieronymos relates the story, in his [treatise] On Tragic Poets.
Ἐγκατῳκοδόμησεν· ὁ δὲ πατὴρ μηνίσας τὸν παῖδα ἐπὶ τῇ ἑαυτοῦ παλλακῇ ἐπήρωσεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐγκατῳκοδόμησεν. ἱστορεῖ Ἱερώνυμος ἐν τῷ περὶ τραγῳδιοποιῶν.
