"A shield [...] old in the rim from wars, old in the boss: but I shine with courage, which I obtained [...]." And elsewhere: "but he perished [fighting] for his companion, holding his circular [shield-]rim."
Ἴτυς. ἀσπὶς γηραλέα μὲν ἴτυν πολέμων ὕπο, γηραλέα δὲ ὀμφαλόν· ἀλλ' ἀρετᾷ λάμπομαι, αἷς ἔκιχον. καὶ αὖθις· ἀλλ' ὄλετ' ἀμφ' ἑτάρῳ ἐχὼν κυκλόεσσαν ἴτυν.
