more cowardly than Epeios
So said Cratinus the writer of comedy, perhaps because [this man] had served as taxiarch of the Oineid tribe and had shown himself as rather cowardly. For Epeios was certainly a coward.
Ἐπειοῦ δειλότερος· οὕτως ἐλέγετο Κρατῖνος ὁ κωμικός, ἴσως διὰ τὸ ταξιαρχῆσαι τῆς Οἰνηΐδος φυλῆς καὶ δειλότερός τε φανῆναι. καὶ γὰρ ὁ Ἐπειὸς δειλὸς ἦν.
