ship-securing
[An adjective applicable to] the anchor controlling the ship. In the Epigrams [it is written]: "and a ship-securing anchor besides them, shackle of the storm."
Ἐχενηΐς· ἡ κρατοῦσα τὴν ναῦν ἄγκυρα. ἐν Ἐπιγράμμασι· ἄγκυράν τ' ἐπὶ τοῖς ἐχενηΐδα, δεσμὸν ἀέλλης.
