Translation

[Meaning they] attacking, clashing with.¹ Aelian [writes]: "striking out at their friends and servants they were killing them as [if they were] enemies."²

Ἐμπλασσόμενοι· ἐπεμβαίνοντες, συρρηγνύμενοι. Αἰλιανός· τοῖς φίλοις καὶ οἰκείοις ἐμπλασσόμενοι ἀπέσφαττον αὐτοὺς ὡς πολεμίους.
