Translation

[Meaning he] having floated on.¹
Also [sc. attested is] e)piplw/s, in Homer.² [It comes] from the [verb] ple/w, [Ionic] plw/w, [future], plw/sw, [aorist participle] plw/sas, by syncope³ plw/s, and [compound] e)piplw/s. It is indeclinable, because it is aorist in sound, but its meaning [is] imperfect.⁴

Ἐπιπλώσας· ἐπιπλεύσας. καὶ Ἐπιπλώς, παρ' Ὁμήρῳ. παρὰ τὸ πλέω, πλώω, πλώσω, πλώσας, συγκοπῇ πλώς, καὶ ἐπιπλώς. ἔστι δὲ ἄκλιτον, διότι ἡ φωνὴ αὐτοῦ ἀόριστός ἐστι. τὸ δὲ σημαινόμενον παρατατικός.
