Translation
Name of a particular public prosecution [sc. in classical Athens]. Not only does the term apply whenever someone attacks a decree or law by lodging an indictment for illegality [grafh/ parano/mwn ] but also in the case of many other public crimes. The word is common in the orators.

Γραφή· δημοσίου τινὸς ἐγκλήματος ὄνομα. οὐ μόνον δὲ ὅταν ψηφίσματος ἢ νόμου κατηγορῇ τις, παρανόμων γραφὴν ἀποφέρεσθαι καὶ γράφεσθαι λέγεται, ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐπ' ἄλλοις πολλοῖς δημοσίοις ἀδικήμασι. πολλὴ δὲ ἡ χρῆσις τοῖς ῥήτορσιν.
