That is, in bribe-fashion. Aristophanes [writes]: "[they say that he was apt] to fit only the Dorian-mode harmony as regards the lyre, and not be willing to accept any other."
Δωριστί· τουτέστι δωροδοκιστί. Ἀριστοφάνης· τὴν Δωριστὶ μόνην ἁρμονίαν ἁρμόττεσθαι θαμὰ τὴν λύραν, ἄλλην δ' οὐκ ἐθέλειν λαβεῖν.
