they approved, they sanctioned
[Meaning] they judged, they determined. "After many words had been said in response to each side, the majority approved recognizing the former [sc. opinion]."
Ἐδοκίμασαν· προέκριναν, ἐκύρωσαν. πολλῶν δὲ ῥηθέντων εἰς ἑκάτερα λόγων οἱ πλείους γνῶναι τὴν προτέραν ἐδοκίμασαν.
