Alexandros Aitolos, Alexandrus Aetolus, Alexander the Aetolian
From the city of Pleuron; son of Satyrus and Stratocleia. Grammarian. He also wrote tragedies, and was consequently selected as one of the seven tragedians who were nicknamed the 'Pleiad'.
Ἀλέξανδρος Αἰτωλός· ἐκ πόλεως Πλευρῶνος, υἱὸς Σατύρου καὶ Στρατοκλείας, γραμματικός. οὗτος καὶ τραγῳδίας ἔγραψεν, ὡς καὶ τῶν ἑπτὰ τραγικῶν ἕνα κριθῆναι, οἵπερ ἐπεκλήθησαν ἡ Πλειάς.
