Xenophon [writes]: "the wine was entirely unmixed, unless someone poured water in." And elsewhere: "the woman skilled at sipping three times a cup of unmixed wine."
Ἄκρατος· Ξενοφῶν· πάνυ δὲ ἦν ὁ οἶνος ἄκρατος, εἰ μή τις ὕδωρ ἐπιχέοι. καὶ αὖθις· ἡ τρὶς ἐφεξῆς εἰδυῖα ἀκρήτου χειλοποτεῖν κύλικα.
