Translation

[Alope]; and [the cognate adjective] Alopeian.¹ A daughter of Kerkyon, from whom [was born] Hippothoon, son of Poseidon, the eponym of the [Attic] tribe Hippothoontis.

Ἀλόπη· καὶ Ἀλόπηος. Κερκυόνος θυγάτηρ, ἐξ ἧς καὶ Ποσειδῶνος Ἱπποθόων, ὁ τῆς Ἱπποθοωντίδος φυλῆς ἐπώνυμος.

Harpok's entry had been generated by the mention of Alope in Lycurgus fr. 24 Conomis; it also cites Euripides (who wrote a play of this name), Hellanicus and Dinarchus.
