Translation

[Meaning] anything which has been dedicated to a god.
When [the god] was asking Pelops for a dedication of the golden lamb and he was offering other treasures [instead], [the god] replied: "give me what I want; do not give me what I don't want."¹
It is also said a)na/qema.²

Ἀνάθημα· πᾶν τὸ ἀφιερωμένον θεῷ. αἰτοῦντος τῷ Πέλοπι ἀνάθημα τὴν ἄρνα τὴν χρυσῆν, ἕτερα παρέχοντι κειμήλια, ἔχρησεν· ὃ βούλομαι δός· μὴ δίδου δ' ὃ μὴ θέλω. λέγεται δὲ καὶ Ἀνάθεμα.
