Translation

[Meaning] go away from!¹
Also [sc. attested is the aorist infinitive] a)posth=nai ["to renounce"],² [meaning] to be separated from.
"For it is always difficult to renounce what one has by nature. Yet many have experienced this: by assuming the ideas of others they changed their ways."³

Ἀπόστηθι· ἀποχώρει. καὶ Ἀποστῆναι, ἀποχωρισθῆναι. τὸ γὰρ ἀποστῆναι χαλεπὸν ἀεὶ φύσεως, ἣν ἔχει τις ἀεί. καίτοι πολλοὶ ταῦτ' ἔπαθον· ξυνόντες γνώμαις ἑτέρων μετέβαλον τοὺς τρόπους.
