Translation

[sc. A way of describing] death, the one who is always sleeping. But it must be read as a single [word]. Sophocles [writes]: "upon you, in fact, I call, the ever-sleeping one."¹ But a)ei/upnos ['ever-sleeping'] [is also] one who is always sleeping.²

Αἰένυπνος· ὁ θάνατος, ὁ ἀεὶ κοιμώμενος. ὑφ' ἓν δὲ ἀναγνωστέον. Σοφοκλῆς· σέ τοι κικλήσκω τὴν αἰένυπνον. ἀείυπνος δὲ ὁ ἀεὶ κοιμώμενος.

1Sophocles, Oedipus at Colonus 1578 (web address 1), where the mss have ai)enu/pnon (as here), ai)e\n a)/upnon or ai)e\n e)/nupnon. The second and third of these variants aside, the scholiast's point is that one should read here not a two-word phrase, ai)e\n u(/pnon, but a single word, a)ei/upnon. ↩
