- From pi 122. See also tau 1106. In all three entries the Suda mis-presents as↩
trutodo/kh a feminine noun which should begrutodo/kh (see next note).- 1Greek Anthology 6.254.6 (Myrinus); again at pi 122; a parody of dedicatory epigrams: upon Priapus's porch, old Statyllius dedicates his feminizing accessories; cf. Gow and Page vol. I (288-289) and vol. II (320-321). Find further excerpts from this epigram at theta 239, tau 27, upsilon 691, and phi 163. Gow and Page note (vol. I, 288) that the Suda follows the Anthologia Palatina in reading
trutodo/khn (feminine accusative singular, "a trunk for a balance or scales"). However, they adopt (ibid.) an emendation not elsewhere attested, but suggested by Toup (Jonathan Toup, English classicist, 1713-1785) in readinggrutodo/khn , a trunk for feminine gear; cf.
