Translation

Thus it is called, in which Athena and Poseidon were judged. Cratinus in Archilochoi [writes]: "where they are called chairs and game-boards of great Zeus."¹ For the place, in which they were judged, is called Zeus's tribunal. The saying applies to things which are divine and inviolable.²

Διὸς ψῆφος· οὕτως καλεῖται, ἐν ᾧ Ἀθηνᾶ καὶ Ποσειδῶν ἐκρίθησαν. Κρατῖνος Ἀρχιλόχοις· ἔνθα Διὸς μεγάλου θᾶκοι πεσσοί τε καλοῦνται. ὁ γὰρ τόπος, ἐν ᾧ ἐκρίθησαν, Διὸς ψῆφος καλεῖται. τάττεται δὲ ἡ παροιμία ἐπὶ τῶν ἱερῶν καὶ ἀθίκτων.
