Translation

[Meaning] mock/mocking.¹
Agathias [writes]: "he came with the intent of scoffing at them for their lack of thought and lack of care".²
[Applies] to an accusative.
And elsewhere: "not least did Petranes vex him, scoffing [sc. at him] as follows".³

Ἐπικερτομοῦσι· χλευάζουσιν. Ἀγαθίας· ὁ δὲ ἧκεν ἐπικερτομήσων αὐτοὺς τῆς ἀβουλίας καὶ ἀμελείας. πρὸς αἰτιατικήν. καὶ αὖθις· οὐχ ἥκιστα δὲ Πετράνης ἐλύπησεν αὐτὸν ἐπικερτομήσας τοιάδε.
