Translation

[Meaning an] insolent man, fellow-rejoicer.¹
"These things seemed to happen uselessly, as an excessive reveller [sc. might do]." Procopius says [this]² about the emperor Theodosius.³

Ἐπίκωμος· ὑβριστής, συγχαίρων. ταῦτα δὲ ἀχρεῖα τυγχάνειν ἔδοξεν, ὡς περιττὸς ἐπίκωμος. ὁ Προκόπιός φησι περὶ Θεοδοσίου βασιλέως.
