Translation
There are 2 kinds of Eponyms, the 10 in number from whom the tribes [sc. are named], and another 2 and 401 from whom the age-cohorts of the citizens take their name each year between the ages of 18 and 60.

Ἐπώνυμοι· διττοί εἰσιν οἱ Ἐπώνυμοι, οἱ μὲν ιʹ ἀριθμόν, ἀφ' ὧν αἱ φυλαί, ἕτεροι δὲ βʹ καὶ τοῖς μέν, ἀφ' ὧν αἱ ἡλικίαι προσαγορεύονται τῶν πολιτῶν καθ' ἕκαστον ἔτος ἀπὸ ιηʹ ἔτους μέχρι ξʹ.
