Translation

[Meaning] you understand, you interpret. Polybius [writes]: "not rightly, general, do you take my words".¹
Also [sc. attested is] 'I accept/take'; [used] with an accusative.²

Ἐκδέχῃ· νοεῖς, ὑπολαμβάνεις. Πολύβιος· οὐκ ὀρθῶς, ὦ στρατηγέ, τοὺς ἡμετέρους ἐκδέχῃ λόγους. καὶ Ἐκδέχομαι· αἰτιατικῇ.
