Translation

[Used] with an accusative. Meaning to bring into war.¹ It is also written with eta [i.e. instead of omega], e)kpolemh=sai; in Xenophon for example.²
[The verb] e)kpolemh=sai is construed with an accusative.³
But e)kpolemw=sai [means] making enemies, as if spurring people into war.⁴

Ἐκπολεμῶσαι· αἰτιατικῇ. ἀντὶ τοῦ εἰς πόλεμον καταστῆσαι. γράφεται δὲ καὶ διὰ τοῦ η ἐκπολεμῆσαι, ὡς καὶ παρὰ Ξενοφῶντι. Ἐκπολεμῆσαι συντάσσεται μετὰ αἰτιατικῆς. Ἐκπολεμῶσαι δὲ τὸ πολεμίους ποιῆσαι, οἷον ἐπὶ πόλεμόν τινας παροξῦναι.
