Translation

[Meaning] they were in love with the constitution of the Lakonians. He¹ mentioned them because at that time² the Lakonians had the upper hand in the war.

Ἐλακωμάνουν· τῆς τῶν Λακώνων ἤρων πολιτείας. ἐμνήσθη δὲ αὐτῶν διὰ τὸ ὑπερέχειν τότε τοὺς Λάκωνας τῷ πολέμῳ.
