Notes
- Several Greek cities of this name are attested, in e.g. Thessaly and (present-day) Spain, but the best-known was in Achaia (in the northern Peloponnese). Destroyed by a tidal wave in 373/2 BCE (Strabo 1.3.18, 8.7.2 etc.), it is one of the less implausible candidates for identification with Plato's Atlantis.
