Translation

[Meaning they who are] jesting.¹ "Perplexing all the nations with the intricacy of expressions and the deviousness of intention."²
Also [sc. attested is] ei)rwneu/etai ["he/she/it dissembles"],³ [meaning] plays a role, pretends.

Εἰρωνευόμενοι· χλευάζοντες. πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ῥημάτων τε ποικιλίᾳ καὶ τῷ δολερῷ τῆς διανοίας εἰρωνευόμενοι. καὶ Εἰρωνεύεται, καθυποκρίνεται, προσποιεῖται.

[1] The headword (perhaps, though not necessarily, extracted from the quotation given) is present participle, masculine nominative plural, of ei)rwneu/omai (see also epsiloniota 206, epsiloniota 209). For the gloss cf. the scholia to Plato, Symposium 216E, where the singular participle occurs.
