Here in the genitive case, evidently extracted from somewhere. The nominative is at iota 595. Unattested outside lexicography.
Perhaps [NF] refers to people of the Hire in Messenia or Hierapolis in Syria mentioned at iota 596. (Other, more tenuous, identifications could be citizens of Hira/Hirta/Ertha in Iraq and the Samnite Hirpini.)
