Translation

[Meaning] dry timbers, [ones] put aside a long while ago. For a "wood" is a timber.¹ Out of this [word] also [comes] "wood-foot", a wooden foot.²

Κᾶλα παλαίθετα· ξηρὰ ξύλα, ἐκ πολλοῦ ἀποτεθέντα χρόνου. κᾶλον γὰρ τὸ ξύλον. ἐξ οὗ καὶ καλόπους, ὁ ξύλινος ποῦς.
