Notes
- Dubious. Diogenes Laertius on "the" Karneades (kappa 400) knows of only one homonym, an elegiac poet (DL 4.66) -- and mentions no pupils of Anaxagoras (2.6-15; alpha 1981). The name Karneades is otherwise unattested in Athens before the late Hellenistic period.
