Memnon
He fought against Troy and was leader of the Ethiopians, but was not himself an Ethiopian; instead, [he came] from Susa in Persia and from the Choaspes river, where the peoples were under his control.
Μέμνων, ὁ ἐς Ἴλιον στρατεύσας, ἡγεῖτο μὲν Αἰθιόπων, οὐκ ἦν δὲ Αἰθίοψ, ἀλλὰ ἀπὸ Σούσων τῶν Περσικῶν καὶ τοῦ Χοάσπου ποταμοῦ, τὰ ἐκείνῃ ἔθνη ὑποχείρια ἔχων.
