Translation
A proper name.1
Or someone ready to defend himself [a)mu/nesqai ].2
"But rather [stupid is] Amynias the son of Swank, the man whose forbears wore their hair in buns." [So says] Aristophanes [and goes on]. "This man I once saw dining with Leogoras,3 instead of [his present fare of] an apple and a pomegranate; for [now] he is as hungry as Antiphon.4 What is more he went as an ambassador to Pharsalos, and there he alone mixed with the Thessalian serfs alone - he himself being a serf second to none."5
