Translation

[*)ana/stasis can be used] instead of a)nasta/twsis.¹
Polybius [writes]:² "Massana³ was for Carthage the cause of the destruction, leaving it to the Romans utterly weak."

Ἀνάστασις· ἀντὶ τοῦ ἀναστάτωσις. Πολύβιος· Μάσσανα δὲ Καρχηδόνι αἴτιον τῆς ἀναστάσεως γενέσθαι, πάμπαν τὴν ἀσθενῆ Ῥωμαίοις ὑπολιπόντα.
