Translation

[Meaning] carrying.¹
And [there is] a saying: "[burdens] which not even a hundred Egyptians could lift."² For in many places it is recorded that Egyptians were burden-bearing.³

Ἀχθοφόρον· βαστάζοντα. καὶ παροιμία· Οὓς οὐκ ἂν ἄραιντ' οὐδ' ἑκατὸν Αἰγύπτιοι. πολλαχοῦ γὰρ ἀχθοφοροῦντας τοὺς Αἰγυπτίους μέμνηνται.
