Translation

[Meaning] one worthy of reverence and respect.¹
Damascius [says]: "Isidore was awestruck at the sight of Proclus, venerable and marvelous to see; he thought he was seeing in him the very face of true philosophy."²

Αἰδοῖος· ὁ αἰδοῦς καὶ ἐντροπῆς ἄξιος. Δαμάσκιος· ὁ δὲ Ἰσίδωρος ἐξεπλήττετο ὁρῶν τὸν Πρόκλον αἰδοῖόν τε καὶ δεινὸν ἰδεῖν, αὐτὸ δοκῶν ἐκεῖνο ὁρᾶν τὸ φιλοσοφίας τῷ ὄντι πρόσωπον.
