Translation
[Meaning] the body of singers in the churches. In the time of Constantius the son of Constantine the Great1 and Flavianus the bishop of Antioch,2 the choirs of the churches were divided into two parts, singing the psalms of David antiphonally. This began first in Antioch and spread to all the ends of the inhabited world.
