1. As its LSJ entry shows, this headword has three regular meanings: 'one of the people, commoner'; 'one of the same people, fellow-citizen'; and 'member of a deme' (for which last cf. delta 465). Here, evidently, the second of these -- found mainly in poetry -- is in question.
