Translation

[Meaning] that which is venerable and holy.¹ For a)/gos [is] the object of holy awe.² From this also [comes the phrase] "amazement holds me."³ Also, "How I wonder at you, woman."⁴ By euphemism pollution is also called a)/gh, and defiled people are called e)nagei=s.

Ἐναγές· τὸ σεβάσμιον καὶ ἁγνόν. ἄγος γὰρ τὸ ἱερὸν σέβας. ἔνθεν καὶ τό, ἄγη μ' ἔχει. καί, ὡς σέ, γύναι, ἄγαμαι. κατ' εὐφημισμὸν δὲ καὶ τὰ μιάσματα ἄγη λέγεται, καὶ οἱ μιαροὶ ἐναγεῖς καλοῦνται.
