Translation

[Meaning] he who persists in denying, and denies completely.¹ "Despite having been whipped, he was obstinate in denying that he had said anything."²

Ἔξαρνος· ὁ τῷ ἀρνεῖσθαι ἐπιμένων, καὶ ἀρνούμενος καθόλου. ὁ δὲ μαστιγωθεὶς ἔξαρνος ἦν μηδὲν εἰρηκέναι.
