- [1] = Synagoge epsilon516, Photius epsilon1180; cf. generally epsilon 1667, epsilon 1669 (where the pertinence of the third gloss is clarified somewhat). The present headword participle, from the verb↩
e)ceta/zw (epsilon 1667), must be quoted from somewhere (probably the first quotation given).- 2C. Theodoridis in his Photius edition (vol.II p.LXXXI) plausibly identifies this as an approximation of Herodian (the historian) 7.5.2, on the proconsul Gordian:
e)/n te pra/cesi megi/stais e)cetasqei/s . ↩- 3Quotation (from Byzantine historiography) unidentifiable. Same passage in ps.-Zonaras s.v., where however Tittmann prints lower-case
fourtwni/wn . - 2C. Theodoridis in his Photius edition (vol.II p.LXXXI) plausibly identifies this as an approximation of Herodian (the historian) 7.5.2, on the proconsul Gordian:
