Translation

[Meaning they] covering over, protecting.¹ Procopius [writes]: "covering over the gullies with earth, they divert the water."²
Also [sc. attested is the adjective] a)kro/bustos ["tip-stuffed"], [meaning] having a tip that has been stuffed.³

Ἐπιβύσαντες· ἐπικαλύψαντες, σκεπάσαντες. Προκόπιος· ἐπιβύσαντες τοὺς ῥωχμοὺς χώματι τὸ ὕδωρ μετοχετεύουσι. καὶ Ἀκρόβυστος, ὁ τὸ ἄκρον βεβυσμένον ἔχων.
