[Used] with a genitive. [Meaning he/she/it] lays claim to.

Notes

The headword -- third person singular, present indicative, of the verb e)pidika/zomai -- has the same glossing in Hesychius and other lexica. It is quoted from Attic oratory: Lysias fr. 32 Thalheim (now 91 Carey OCT), from the Reply to Diogenes on behalf of Archestratus about a plot of land.
