Translation

[Meaning] to attack. "He wrote that he was intending to make an attempt on Singara,¹ and send infantry sufficient for that purpose."²

Ἐπιχειρήσειν· ἐπιβαλέσθαι. ἔγραφεν ἐπιχειρήσειν μέλλειν τοῖς Σιγγάροις καὶ ἐπὶ τῷδε πέμπειν πεζοὺς ἀποχρῶντας.

The headword, presumably extracted from the quotation given, is future infinitive -- hard to render in idiomatic English -- of the verb e)pixeire/w (epsilon 2770, epsilon 2771).
