Translation

[Genitive] ei)ko/nos: [meaning] a likeness.
David [says]: "Lord, in your city you will despise their image". For the image has an ephemeral bloom.¹
"Two images of the city lying in exceeding beauty."²

Εἰκών, εἰκόνος· ὁμοίωμα. Δαβίδ· κύριε, ἐν τῇ πόλει σου τὴν εἰκόνα αὐτῶν ἐξουδενώσεις. ἡ γὰρ εἰκὼν πρόσκαιρον ἔχει τὸ ἄνθος. εἰκόνας δύο κειμένας τῆς πόλεως ἐν πάνυ καλῷ.
