[Meaning] to watch out for an opportunity.1
"But he ordered him to shift quarters and not to be meddlesome nor to be on the lookout for an opportunity."2

Notes (2)

  1. 1Likewise or similarly in other lexica; see the references at Photius kappa74 Theodoridis. The headword is aorist infinitive of the verb kairofulakei=n; cf. generally kappa 1192 and phi 826. It is presumably quoted from somewhere (but, if so, not the quotation given, which uses the present infinitive). ↩
  2. 2Quotation (and personnel) unidentifiable. ↩
