Translation

[Meaning] rage, or spite, or a greedy [person].¹
"Since the god was angry with them, the oracle certainly was not accepting them. And [as they] were petitioning to learn and begging [him] to proclaim the cause of [his] wrath at some time [although] late [...]".²
