Translation

[Meaning] I recall/remind.
[The form] mnw= is not a perispomenon, for it does not have completeness, but since it is monosyllabic, it is pronounced with a circumflex on the final syllable out of necessity 1.

Greek original · Adler’s text

Μνῶ· μνήσκω. τὸ μνῶ οὐκ ἔστιν περισπώμενον, οὐδὲ γὰρ ἐντέλειαν ἔχει, ἀλλ' ἐπεὶ μονοσύλλαβόν ἐστιν, ἐξ ἀνάγκης περιεσπάσθη.

Notes (1)

  1. Both the headword mnw= (mna/w) and the gloss mnh/skw are active forms attested only in lexica and grammars. On monosyllabic verbs, see phi 394.
This entry is also found (without the commentary on the headword's accent) at Photius mu491 Theodoridis and at Synagoge mu241.
  2. 1For this use of perispa/w see LSJ s.v. IV (web address 1) and Dickey p.254. ↩
