Translation
From the [sound] mu is produced the [verb] mu/zein ["to snort"], similarly to many other [onomatopoetic verbs]. But mu/zein is to make a certain sound with the nostrils. Aristophanes [writes]: "why do you snort? Everything has been done well."

Notes
- Aristophanes, Thesmophoriazusae 231 (web address 1), with scholion. (Mnesilochos there utters the headword phrase; Euripides responds with the question quoted.)
For a related noun, see mu 1372.
