Translation

[Meaning] they reside: nai/w ["I dwell"], [from which comes the noun] naie/ths ["resident"], [and from this noun, the verb] naietw= ["I inhabit"], like kunhge/ths ["huntsman"], kunhgetw= ["I hunt"]. [From] naietw= [or] naieta/w [comes the third person plural] naieta/ousin, an active form instead of the passive oi)kou=ntai.
